Dream Bathroom Ideas for Your Next Renovation

How to get the most out of your bathroom renovation?

Of course my first recommendation would be hiring a designer for a large scale bathroom renovation.

At Savori Spaces we provide a blue print and 3D visuals on how the bathroom with look. This is a good way to foresee any flaws and you don’t want to miss out on shampoo niches!

With a good plan you then can determine if you want to hire a contractor to do the work or hire trades on your own based on your handyman skills. If you are moving plumbing and making major changes to your bathroom, I would recommend getting professionals to help you do it right.

Here is some bathroom renovation advice:

Have a corner jacuzzi tub that doesn’t work or you don’t use? Change it into a sleek and sexy freestanding tub to allow more room and give you the opportunity to possibly to make your shower larger. Today I am seeing much more focus on shower’s. Some clients are even eliminating tubs all together! With the ability build in benches, steam units and body sprays, showers can be more desirable. As you grow old with your home accessibility is much better with a shower. The floor can be sloped for a seamless transition from the bathroom floor to the shower and linear drains can blend in with the floor too!

Selecting your tile

Depending on the space you are working with, we are seeing larger and larger tiles. Consider a continuous slab look for your shower or 24” tiles on the floor for less grout lines. This allows for easier maintenance and a bacteria free zone!

Another tip would be selecting anti slip tiles and considering how often you want to clean your bathroom floor. If you have dark hair and hate cleaning, maybe a solid white tile wouldn’t be the best solution!

Plumbing

Chrome, Stainless, black bronze… now Gold? How do you choose? Our tip would be select a finish based on cleanability, budget and style. Chrome is the cheapest and the price goes up as you choose more unique finishes. Black fixtures definitely make a statement whereas bronze fixtures can add a warm element to stark white tiles for example.

Lighting

You don’t have to do a horizontal vanity light anymore! Depending on your situation this might be a great opportunity to refresh this area into a more current option such as vertical sconces between your mirrors or even hanging pendants. I use lighting to add reflection & character into the space

I hope you have found these tips helpful. If you are unsure about what you should do or how to start your renovation contact us and we will send you in the right direction!
