Creme Brulee- Main floor Renovation of a 1990’s Home in Edmonton Alberta
This traditional project in Old Riverbend involved a complete main floor transformation for a busy couple transitioning to life as empty nesters. The goal was to update the dated 1990s interior, including the old oak kitchen with pink laminate countertops, and enhance the home's overall functionality. Key challenges included reconfiguring the location of the three-way fireplace, incorporating the clients' desire for a clean traditional design, and improving the space for entertaining guests.
This extensive renovation involved stripping everything back to the basics before revitalizing the space with fresh paint, elegant flooring, and sophisticated cabinetry hand-selected by Savori Spaces. The three-way fireplace was relocated and redesigned to serve as a new focal point for the living room, featuring a limestone cast surround. A 40-inch teardrop crystal chandelier was added to enhance the room's sparkle and elegance.

This renovation in Summerside was a journey, although perhaps not as rich and diverse as the homeowners' own travels around the globe. Having lived everywhere from the bustling streets of Tanzania to the serene landscapes of Newfoundland before settling into retirement in Edmonton, their worldliness was a guiding light for the project's vision. Together, Benjamin Matthew Contracting and Savori Spaces delved into a collaborative design process with the clients, meticulously planning every detail to ensure the kitchen became a masterpiece of real walnut accented with crisp white, perfectly tailored for their unique storage needs and desire for an appliance garage. Custom shelving in the dining area, fresh paint, new flooring, and carefully selected appliances transformed the space, while the continuation of walnut on the fireplace added a warm, inviting touch. The project, though largely cosmetic, was a testament to the homeowners' amazing spirit and our shared commitment to excellence.
